Virtues in Practice

Virtues in Practice

Virtues in Practice is a program for children in grades Kindergarten through eight to grow closer to Jesus by imitating His life and virtues. It is set up in such a way that a whole school studies the same virtue each month, to provide a whole-school (and at home, whole-family) focus. The program covers 27 virtues over a three-year cycle, with 81 saints held up as models of the virtues.

All Saints Catholic School teaches these virtues during religion classes and also celebrates virtues through other all-school events throughout each year. The 2023-2024 school year is the Year of Hope.

The Virtues in Practice program features a rotating basis of years: Faith, Hope, and Charity. This school year (2023-2024) we will be celebrating the Year of Hope. Students will be reciting the following prayer throughout the year and we encourage everyone to introduce this prayer into your family’s practice.

Act of Charity

O my God, I love you above all things,
with my whole heart and soul,
because You are all good
and worthy of all love.
I love my neighbor as myself
for the love of You.
I forgive all who have injured me,
and ask pardon of all whom I have injured.
Amen.
